BANK OF AMERICA TOWER |
|
The Bank of America Tower is the tallest building in the Pacific Northwest, standing 76 stories tall with over 1,500,000 square feet of space. It opened in 1988 with an Alerton DDC control system. This original installation was one of the largest DDC control system installations at that time. Today, the Bank of America Tower is being upgraded to Alerton's native BACnet compliant product line, BACtalk.

Native
BACnet will be implemented at all system levels from the terminal unit
controller level to the operator workstations. The system will control more
than 12,000 points (objects) of DDC control and will provide central building
management for more than 2,200 hydronic heat pumps, over 350 fans and all
other central equipment including an extensive hydronic loop with 15 boilers,
15 heat exchangers, 6 cooling towers and multiple circulation pumps.
The building owner selected the Alerton BACtalk product because it is an ASHRAE standard that offers interoperability, expandibility, and future competition. In addition, the owner wanted internet access to the automation system which is available through the Alerton Web Browser feature. The project is expected to complete January 2001.
