Central Washington University (CWU), located in
Ellensburg, Washington recently made a 2 million-dollar investment in
Alerton's native BACnet Energy Management System, BACtalk.
CWU expanded its campus with the new construction of Black Hall and Science Hall. In addition, a complete retrofit was done at the following buildings: Shaw Smyser Building, the chiller plant, Holland library, Jongward (facilities & shops area), Dean's Office and Administrative Offices, including VAV laboratories and VAV fume hoods.
CWU's energy management system consists of 5 native BACnet operator workstations and over 500 native BACnet central plant and VAV controllers. Alerton's BACtalk system also controls the VAV Fume Hoods and laboratory controllers at CWU. The buildings are connected via a campus-wide Ethernet network.
Alerton has many BACnet based projects in schools and universities around the world. Central Washington University is a fairly extensive native BACnet installation.
