Controls specialist Sontay has introduced a new, fully comprehensive range of advanced electronic and transformer speed controllers designed for use with centrifugal fans, axial fans, propeller fans and centrifugal pumps in HVAC systems. SONTAY GETS GREENLITE FOR NEW LIGHTING CONTROLS RANGE

With the launch of its new easy to install LL controller range, Sontay has brought energy saving lighting control within the reach of all commercial building end users. This new generation of intelligent controllers not only reduces dramatically the time and cost of initial installation but also provides annual running cost savings of up to 70% over uncontrolled lighting.

Controls specialist Sontay has introduced the OSS 2000 - a new, easy to use Open System Supervisory software package. Capable of full integration with virtually any manufacturer's control or monitoring system, Sontay's OSS 2000 allows end users, consultants and systems integrators a real choice in the type of supervisor they use, bringing added functionality at a fraction of the price of most competitive products.

With its easy to use, browser style interface, OSS 2000 is simple to configure and operate, without the need for expensive user training. Impressive schematics can be quickly and easily created using drag and drop techniques and the software's extensive symbol library. This contains over 3000 high quality, re-sizable bitmaps for creating two and three dimensional, two state and animated graphics. Alternatively, bitmap images can be imported from the user's own choice of drawing package onto the schematic page.

The software also incorporates impressive remote management and networking features. Voice or text alarms can be re-transmitted to fax, e-mail, pagers, GSM compatible telephones or other PC's running OSS 2000. The voice activation capability means that data can also be retrieved, or control setpoints easily adjusted, using a touch tone telephone. Powerful alarm handling facilities make OSS 2000 ideal for multi-site remote monitoring applications. All displayed values can be configured to show a change of colour on alarm and alarm panels can trigger graphics, as required. The built-in alarm database is also fully accessible to ease event tracking.

Designed to run on Windows 95/98 and NT, OSS 2000 can be viewed over the internet, intranet or directly via a modem. Its client/server architecture ensures that the supervisor can be accessed to implement changes from any PC on the same IT network. The supervisor also allows for the use of plug-ins to enable multiple voice access or other links.

OSS 2000 supports VB scripting for ultimate user flexibility. This allows alarms to be processed, calculations to be made and project specific functions to be incorporated into the system. Links can also be created to other software eg Microsoft Excel, offering comprehensive and versatile reporting facilities that can be automatically updated. The supervisor's security provision is extremely flexible to satisfy individual user requirements. Each control point can have its own security level while all system changes are logged with user ID, level and time.

TUNE IN TO WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY BENEFITS WITH SONTAY'S NEW RP SENSORS

Marking another significant breakthrough in controls technology, Sontay has launched the first ever range of radio controlled room sensors purpose designed for commercial and industrial building control systems. Incorporating both temperature and combined humidity / temperature sensors, the new RP series allows up to 32 separate sensor parameters to be sent via radio transmission to any type of HVAC controller, eliminating the need for costly and / or impractical wiring connections.

Sontay's new RP series can provide a cost effective, 'wireless' sensor solution in new, refurbishment and retrofit applications. These include projects where it is either too expensive or undesirable to disrupt the existing building fabric for wiring e.g., museums and heritage organisations or offices with a high churn rate.
