Candidate must be self-directed and able to manage specific project tasks independently. Lead engineering, process or financial tasks during detailed development of projects. Perform high-level analysis on more complex technical and financial elements, focused on the breadth of bundled programs. Support engineering, process or financial tasks during solution design. Preparation of budgetary cost estimates and preparation of technical reports. Assist in all stages of the development process through technical presentations of the proposed projects. Occasionally performs on-site data collection at customer facilities required to perform solution design or detailed development tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform site surveys to assess demand response capability, including client interviews and facility walk-throughs. Site surveys may include gathering nameplate data, conducting fixture counts, reading blue prints, gathering mechanical schedules, and taking amp probe readings as appropriate
• Develop demand response measures that are appropriate to the operating requirements, energy consuming systems, and energy management systems of the facility
• Identify infrastructure upgrades that will support demand response
• Analyze 15-minute interval data to establish baseline energy consumption and demand response capacity
• Write demand response reports
• Communicate results to clients and utility contacts
• Assist sales staff in selling demand response products and services to clients
Qualifications: Qualifications
• B.S in Mechanical or Electrical engineering; desired coursework in HVAC systems, energy efficiency, and sustainable building design.
• CEM certification a plus.
• Must specifically have at least four (4) years of energy engineering experience, analytical and research skills in the energy engineering field including energy auditing for C&I customers, detailed energy engineering analysis, scope preparation, cost estimating and experience with utility energy efficiency and demand response programs
• Preferred skills in EMS systems, re-commissioning.
• Responsible, organized, detail oriented, motivated, and strong work ethic
• Strong preference for those with specific experience in the energy efficiency industry or building controls industry
• Demonstrated strong technical writing and editing abilities
• Demonstrated communication and leadership skills
• Computer aptitude and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Windows operating system; familiarity with building energy simulation software such as eQuest, DOE 2, Trane Tracer, Energy Pro or similar
• Effectively leading in team settings.
• Has good written and verbal communication skills and is comfortable working in customer-facing situations.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
