Description: Senior-Level Energy Engineer.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Conduct energy analysis, preliminary and detailed energy audits,
monitor and verify energy savings, project management, energy
simulation modeling. The candidate will evaluate EMS systems,
develop demand-side strategies. The candidate will perform
spreadsheet analysis of energy and demand savings calculations,
evaluate utility company incentives, calculate proposed project
costs and economics, and write scope of work for energy control
projects. Individual will work with customer to identify loads
that can be effectively reduced during times of peak energy
demand.
Candidate must be self-directed and able to manage specific
project tasks independently. Lead engineering, process or
financial tasks during detailed development of projects. Perform
high-level analysis on more complex technical and financial
elements, focused on the breadth of bundled programs. Support
engineering, process or financial tasks during solution design.
Preparation of budgetary cost estimates and preparation of
technical reports. Assist in all stages of the development
process through technical presentations of the proposed
projects. Occasionally performs on-site data collection at
customer facilities required to perform solution design or
detailed development tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform site surveys to assess demand response capability,
including client interviews and facility walk-throughs. Site
surveys may include gathering nameplate data, conducting fixture
counts, reading blue prints, gathering mechanical schedules, and
taking amp probe readings as appropriate
• Develop demand response measures that are appropriate to the
operating requirements, energy consuming systems, and energy
management systems of the facility
• Identify infrastructure upgrades that will support demand
response
• Analyze 15-minute interval data to establish baseline energy
consumption and demand response capacity
• Write demand response reports
• Communicate results to clients and utility contacts
• Assist sales staff in selling demand response products and
services to clients
Qualifications: Qualifications
• B.S in Mechanical or Electrical engineering; desired
coursework in HVAC systems, energy efficiency, and sustainable
building design.
• CEM certification a plus.
• Must specifically have at least four (4) years of energy
engineering experience, analytical and research skills in the
energy engineering field including energy auditing for C&I
customers, detailed energy engineering analysis, scope
preparation, cost estimating and experience with utility energy
efficiency and demand response programs
• Preferred skills in EMS systems, re-commissioning.
• Responsible, organized, detail oriented, motivated, and strong
work ethic
• Strong preference for those with specific experience in the
energy efficiency industry or building controls industry
• Demonstrated strong technical writing and editing abilities
• Demonstrated communication and leadership skills
• Computer aptitude and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word,
Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Windows operating system;
familiarity with building energy simulation software such as
eQuest, DOE 2, Trane Tracer, Energy Pro or similar
• Effectively leading in team settings.
• Has good written and verbal communication skills and is
comfortable working in customer-facing situations.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Additional duties
· Other duties related to the commissioning and servicing of
building controls and facilities management systems and energy
management systems as assigned.
Qualifications: · College graduate or an Associates degree in
electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air
conditioning or similar field. Degree may be offset by three
years of industry experience or five years experience in
servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC
industry
· Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems,
facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral
equipment installation and programming techniques
· Ability to perform certain physically demanding jobs, like
carrying ladders, tool bag and/or equipment, in a construction
environment.
· Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
· Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent the
company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical
and professional manner
· Ability to explain technical information to technical and
non-technical people
· Ability to write, test and modify programs in multiple
languages of systems software
· PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC related
software
· Experience with Tridium, BACnet, LonWorks and/or Johnson N2 an
asset
