Keith La Rose

Keith La Rose is Chief Revenue Officer at CopperTree Analytics, where over thirteen years he has worked across fault detection and diagnostics, independent data layers, and energy information systems, and more recently helped build and deploy automated commissioning and system optimization in live buildings. His earlier career spanned close to two decades in technical software sales, from signal processing to subsea systems. Keith writes about data sovereignty and vendor lock-in from the owner’s side of the ledger, and about the gap between how building technology is sold and how it runs on the mechanical floor. His grounding is dual-track by design: diplomas in network engineering and business management early, executive-education certificates from Wharton and Smith at Queen’s later. He is not a lawyer, but does substantial contract review and negotiation in his role, and took a contract law course through Harvard, “From Trust to Promise to Contract,” because data ownership is a valuation problem long before it is a technical one.
