Wiremold^Ò Interlink Cabling System Offers Category 5e Component Solution

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (July 25, 2000) - The Wiremold Company offers an integrated system of Category 5e component products. The Wiremold Interlink Cabling System Category 5e Component Solution exceeds the new TIA/EIA 568-A-5 standard. Under this standard, each component must meet criteria on a "stand-alone" basis, rather than rely on cable for better performance. Thus, the Wiremold Interlink Component Solution platform meets Category 5e component performance requirements.

All Wiremold Interlink Cabling System Category 5e Component Solution products have been engineered to incorporate new, high-performance printed circuit boards and components. Independent tests confirm that these components exceed the standard for NEXT (near-end crosstalk), FEXT (far-end crosstalk), attenuation, and return loss. All products also meet standards for interoperability and backward compatibility.

In addition, all Wiremold Interlink Cabling System Category 5e Component Solution products utilize universal wiring. This enables each insert to be wired for both T568B or T568A wiring schemes.

The Wiremold Interlink Cabling System Category 5e Component Solution includes modular Activate^Ô inserts and keystone jacks for flexible point-of-use connections and high-density rack- and wall-mounted patch panels. Activate Category 5e inserts are fully compatible with existing faceplates and mounting bezels, and integrate seamlessly into all Wiremold wire and cable management platforms.

All Category 5e products are now included in the Wiremold Interlink 15-year Cabling System Limited Warranty and the Extended Product Limited Warranty.

24-hour Express Shipping Program for Cable Tray & Fittings

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (July 25, 2000) - The Wiremold Company has introduced a 24-hour express shipping service for center spine cable tray and fittings. Available nationwide, the SpecMate^Ô Cable Tray Express Ship Program (ESP) offers next day shipping on selected widely used sizes of center spine cable tray straight lengths and fittings, including FiberReady fittings, directly to the job site.

SpecMate Cable Tray is a rugged, yet flexible, aluminum center spine cable tray system that is quickly and easily installed. It helps control labor costs over the life of the installation by allowing cabling to be easily reconfigured or expanded. (July 25, 2000) - The Wiremold Company has modified the Walker® N-R-G Flor® Cellular Raceway System to incorporate a 1.25 inch cable bend radius that exceeds the TIA/EIA standard for cable and wire management systems. The N-R-G-Flor system is the only cellular deck in the industry with bend radius controls from the trench feed to the point-of-use activation. This FiberReadyÔ bend radius protection allows contractors to safely place fiber optic cable without fear of signal loss or distortion due to tight bend radius. It also makes upgrading existing UTP systems to fiber optic cable quick and efficient.

The N-R-G Flor Cellular Raceway System is a flexible, large capacity infloor wiring system designed for steel frame construction. WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (July 25, 2000) - The Wiremold Company offers a new surge protection module for perimeter raceway installations that protects multiple "downstream" outlets in a room. The Quick Fit^Ô Surge Protection Module wires directly into raceway systems like an ordinary duplex receptacle and fits into any Quick Fit/5507 series opening, bezel, or device box. It also installs into the WallSource^Ô multi-service box to protect all the outlets in the box.

The Quick Fit Surge Protection Module eliminates the need for cord-ended surge strips. It is available in white, ivory, and gray to match almost any décor.

One-Piece Faceplate is Ready to Install

Unique design, integral fastening hardware cut installation time

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (July 25, 2000) - The Wiremold Company offers a self-contained communications faceplate that requires no assembly or additional mounting hardware. The design of the WallReady^Ô faceplate speeds installation. This faceplate, which requires no metal frame or fastening bracket, mounts directly into drywall or paneling, and adjusts to wall thicknesses from 1/8-in. to 1-in. The fastening mechanism is similar to a toggle bolt. When the integral screws are tightened, the fastening brackets are drawn tight to the wall, securing the device in place.

The WallReady faceplate is part of the Activate^Ô Connectivity System. It accepts a wide variety of communications inserts that snap in from the front, further reducing installation time. The Activate Connectivity System includes activation inserts for UTP, coaxial, audio, video, and fiber optic cabling. A single-gang WallReady faceplate can be configured for up to six ports, providing true multimedia capability at the point of use. Station identification labels and windows are included, as are color-matched screw covers.

The WallReady faceplate is designed for low-voltage, class 2 wiring. It is UL listed in the United States and Canada.
