Detailed information on features and benefits, application considerations, selection procedures, performance, electrical and controls data, dimensions and weights, job-site connections, mechanical specifications and special features is covered.

LA CROSSE, WI -  June 9, 2000 - The Trane Company has announced price increases of two to three percent on central station air handlers and fans. The price increases are effective immediately.

Charmes, France -- The Trane Company has announced price increases in Europe up to four percent on all centrifugal, helical rotary and absorption chillers, air handling units and variable air volume products. The price increases are effective immediately.

The increase is the result of several factors that have impacted Trane's cost of doing business. First, company suppliers continue to raise the cost of several key raw materials from between five to 20 percent. "For example, copper has gone up more than 20 percent since last year," said a Trane Company spokesperson. "Transportation costs have risen nearly five percent, driven by higher fuel prices."

In addition, the U.S. dollar has increased nearly five percent compared to the Euro in the past six months. This affects Trane's business, as some refrigeration components are sourced from the dollar zone.

Reliable Controls ST. PAUL, MN - June 6, 2000 - The Tracer Summit(R) Connections CD, now available from The Trane Company, is a resource for system designers and building owners seeking solutions for interoperability.

Focusing on industry education, the CD's content ranges from introductory background on protocols to detailed info on designing and specifying open systems.

Connections CD interface allows users to choose from over one hour of video, interactive or printable material and view those sections of the most interest to them. There is also an automated tour showing highlights from the CD. Detailed technical information on applying the BACnet(R) and LonMark(R) protocols is included on the CD. A glossary aids understanding of terminology, acronyms and jargon. Users can view case studies of facilities where open systems are successfully addressing real building needs for interoperability. One section of the CD describes Trane building automation capabilities, including interoperability.

According to a Trane spokesperson, "Despite all the information circulating on interoperability and open systems, there has not been a comprehensive and reliable source for gaining a clear understanding. The Tracer Summit Connections CD provides systems designers and building owners answers to their questions on interoperability."
