Oakland, CA, - ABB Energy Interactive, Inc. (ABB EI) announced that two more California utilities have signed contracts to implement ABB's Energy Profiler Online (EPO) to manage a variety of mandatory and voluntary load curtailment programs. Anticipating summertime supply shortages, Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and the City of Roseville will implement load curtailment programs using EPO as a communications gateway and administration tool.
Both utilities have offered load curtailment programs in the past, in various forms, but needed a platform that would allow them to reach more customers while using fewer resources. Taking advantage of the California Energy Commission's funding, the two both settled on ABB's EPO.
Located in Oakland, California, ABB Energy Interactive is a leading developer of retail energy information systems and services.
