The most innovative products among the thousands on display at the AHR Expo will be selected as winners in eight specific categories: heating, cooling, refrigeration, ventilation, indoor air quality, energy management, tools & instruments, and software. Due to the response to last year's inaugural Innovation Awards program, "Tools & Instruments" and "Software" have split into two categories this year, bringing the total number of award categories to eight.

A panel of judges, made up of ASHRAE members selected for their exceptional knowledge of the industry and its products, will review and evaluate all submissions. Product entries will be judged for innovation, application, value to user, and market impact. However, only one product per company can be submitted and winning products from last year cannot be re-entered. The 2003 inaugural awards program generated a total of ninety-five entries.

Entry forms have been sent to more than 1,200 exhibiting companies and winners will be announced in mid November 2003. An award for each of the eight categories will be presented to the winners at a special reception during the 2004 AHR Expo.

The winners will receive special placards to place in their booths as well as an etched crystal award to be displayed at their company headquarters. In addition, each winner will be featured in a special section of the ASHRAE Journal and other trade publications. For more information on the AHR Expo Innovation Awards, visit www.ahrexpo.com.
