This year Connectivity week will have a full track devoted to Green Building Information Technology (IT).  The track called Converging IT and Energy to Create Green Buildings will be a very interesting balance of speakers from the IT space as well as thought leaders in the building area.  Over the past several years there has been a great deal of talk about Green Buildings and IT, but how do these subjects coexist and in what ways can IT enhance sustainability?  If these are the types of questions on your mind, make sure to attend this session. It may also be of value to read the May Article “Green Intelligent Buildings…what’s next?”.  The speakers in this track will share their insights on leveraging traditional building systems and enterprise energy management for Energy Business Intelligence.  The emphasis here is to go beyond simple graphic displays to a new type of dashboard that blends graphic user interfaces with key performance indicators that can show non-technical people what is happening in the building and how it affects sustainability, as well as the work that building occupants are performing.  The is truly the next frontier for technology in buildings.

Jack Mc Gowan  CEO, Energy Control Inc.
Chairman Emeritus, DOE GridWise Architecture Council
