(LAKEVILLE, Minn.) - On April 15, PureChoice will introduce a new device that monitors the three key indoor air quality constituents with a single, compact unit. The Nose3™ Monitor® includes three fundamental IAQ sensors -- temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide -- on one circuit board. In late 2001, PureChoice introduced a five-sensor device, the Electronic Nose®, that measures temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and odors and gases (TVOCs). "Every day, more facility managers realize the importance of incorporating good IAQ management into building control and coordination," said Joe Wolf, PureChoice's director of technology, "but not all building automation systems are capable of handling five monitoring parameters. "We have listened to our customers and created an entry point into basic IAQ management with Nose3." The Nose3 will interface with most building automation systems. The product is LonMark® certified, an indicator that a product has completed the LonMark conformance tests and has been designed to interoperate across a LonWorks® network. LonMark is recognized worldwide as a de-facto standard for control networks in all facets of the building controls industry, including access control, energy management, heating and cooling, lighting, metering and security. "The Nose3 is ideal for those customers who aren't ready to use five parameters with their building control system or who don't have any carbon monoxide or TVOC contamination," Wolf said.

The new device communicates utilizing the same digital technology as the Electronic Nose, making upgrades easy; also, both devices can be used in the same building control network. Like the Electronic Nose, each sensor in The Nose3 is individually certified for accuracy with NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) references. NIST is a non-regulatory federal agency within the U.S. Commerce Department's Technology Administration. NIST's mission is to develop and promote measurement, standards and technology to enhance productivity, facilitate trade and improve the quality of life. PureChoice is the industry leader in indoor air quality monitoring technology. More information about PureChoice and indoor air quality is available on the company's website at www.purechoice.com
