ROSSLYN, VIRGINIA, The Lighting Controls Association (LCA), administered by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), recently unveiled a new web site, www.AboutLightingControls.org , to provide comprehensive education to building owners and managers, energy managers, specifiers, contractors, distributors and allied trades involved in building management, design and construction.
Advanced lighting controls including switching and dimming controls and systems that, according to the California Energy Commission, generate typical energy savings of 35-45 percent in commercial and institutional buildings.
LCA's new web site, www.AboutLightingControls.org, covers a broad range of application issues, including controls options, placement, technology, projects, compatibility, lamp life and other key issues involved in controls specification. In addition, the site includes a product matrix providing a standard interface to find product specifications, educational resources and application support from a spectrum of controls manufacturers.
