SAN DIEGO, May 9, 2006 – Hotel 1000 has chosen San Diego-based Valcros, Inc. to design and integrate its voice, data, and video network into a fully converged infrastructure for a unique condo hotel, opening in downtown Seattle June 26, 2006. This hotel features 120 guest rooms, a restaurant and bar, the Hotel 1000 Country Club and Spa (with virtual golf from the world’s top courses), and a dog-walking park on the roof. The hotel’s converged network provides high-speed wireless and Internet access in rooms and common areas, voicemail, and phone-based self-service functions. Each room is equipped with a Cisco touch screen phone that provides information on local attractions, restaurants, room services, and weather forecasts.

Valcros is one of a few, select network design consultants and integrators of IP-based networks to specialize in the unique needs of hotels and multi-dwelling units. A member of Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG), Valcros works with other industry leading companies in developing solutions that satisfies the ever increasing technology needs of hotel guests, staff, and owners.

"Hotels like the Hotel 1000 are leading the world's hospitality industry," said Mark Munger, President of Valcros. “With a converged solution, Hotel 1000 is reaping the benefits of an IP-based network that promotes guest satisfaction and repeat customers while increasing staff productivity and lowering total cost of ownership. The Hotel 1000 solution accommodates the sophisticated needs of vacation and business travelers alike with an enhanced, flexible, and available voice and video communications system.”

Valcros uses Cisco IP Telephony products and Cisco best practices to provide state-of-the-art solutions that enable hotels to provide state-of-the-art communication and advanced guest services.

Sony IP-based security cameras throughout the project provide high-resolution images via built-in web server and network interface.

By engaging Valcros, Hotel 1000 will be able to offer advanced guest services, integrate back-end operations, and reduce deployment and management costs. With the flexibility afforded by the system, Hotel 1000 can introduce new technology as it becomes available, thereby continually increasing its offerings and reinventing its business model.
