Linear Demonstrates New Keypads, PERS, Telephone Entry Systems, and Access Control Systems at ISC West

New APeX Gate Controller, Plus Series of Telephone Entry Systems, and Gate Operators Highlight New Products That Will Appeal to Security Installer Market

LAS VEGAS. (April 3, 2008) – Linear LLC, an innovator in home technology solutions for security, communications, and entertainment, will display the latest in its growing line of home and commercial security products. Highlighting the Linear display in booth 21035 will be the latest telephone entry systems, a new line of access entry keypads, a new gate operator system, and Linear’s line of PERS personal emergency products.

Linear will show off its new generation of Telephone Entry Systems and Access Controllers. The AE2000Plus, AE1000Plus, and AM3Plus now include AXNET for browser-based programming from any PC, as well as programming using Linear’s AccessBase 2000 software. You also can program any of the Plus products using the system keypad.

Linear also will display the latest versions of its popular AK family of access entry keypads, including the AK-11 exterior surface mount keypad, the AK-21W weather-resistant keypad for flush mount exterior installations, and the AK-31 economy interior keypad. Linear also will demonstrate its latest wireless gate/door controller, the AP-5. The AP-5 has three programmable relays (access, obstacle, and configurable), to give installers maximum flexibility for use with vehicular gates, pedestrian gates, security gates, office doors, or any combination. And because it’s wireless and is powered using 12-24 Volts AC or DC, it can be installed almost anywhere.

The new APeX gate operator controller and LRA Linear Residential Actuator swing gate operator are the latest additions to Linear’s gate operator line. The APeX is the new controller for Linear’s slide, swing, and barrier gate operators and is currently equipped on the SL, SW, and LRA operators and will be phased in the barrier and large gate operators over the next year. The APeX features on-board, low-voltage surge protection for lightning protection on all inputs, and it features LED diagnostic lights and a built-in MegaCode radio that can handle up to 40 handheld transmitters and two MGT gate edge transmitters. It also comes with a three-button station to control the gate (open, close, and stop). And the APeX can be networked for dual-gate applications. The new LRA linear residential arm is equipped with the APeX and is an electro-mechanical screw drive with a 24-volt DC motor for either dual or single-gate installations. This aluminum arm has a 16-inch usable stroke length and has maximum gate ratings of 600 pounds, 16 feet. It’s powered by 7 Ahr batteries that are rechargeable using AC or solar power, and the batteries and the APeX are housed in a fiberglass enclosure.

Linear also will display its line of PERS Personal Emergency Reporting Systems, including the latest product, the PERS 3600B console. This supervised emergency reporting system with built-in two-way voice capability monitors up to 16 transmitters, also includes support for Linear’s new DXS-80 wireless CO detector, which also is being demonstrated at ISC West (see separate press release issued today). Linear’s PERS line also includes the PERS 2400B console (also CO-compatible), and provides popular pre-configured “kits” to PERS providers. The PERS 3, 4 and 5 kit packages include the console, 2-way voice configuration, back-up battery, phone cables and a choice of personal transmitters – everything needed for a PERS installation.
