MILWAUKEE – (July 27, 2006) – Johnson Controls, Inc., a global leader in building efficiency, equipment and controls, today launched an enhanced line of YORK® Solution® air handling units with an integrated factory-mounted Metasys® controls option. The units allow for improved installation and offers improved performance, helping maximize return on investment. The enhanced units mark the first integration of YORK equipment with Johnson Controls latest technology.

Integrating controls on an air handling at the factory creates a single-source of responsibility for the facility owner and operator. Having one source for equipment that includes controls eliminates the need for multiple trades in the field, resulting in reduced logistics and commissioning. In addition, installing controls at the factory means pre-engineered documented controls standards. Johnson Controls unparalleled systems performance knowledge allows our engineers to optimize the location and types of control sensors and actuators within the air handling units.

“These enhanced air handling units mark a significant milestone in product integration between Johnson Controls and YORK since our acquisition of the company in December, 2005,” said Joe Walicki, Vice President and General Manager, Systems. “This product is one of many Johnson Controls efforts to eliminate redundancy, maximize functionality, improve quality, and ultimately lower risk and cost for our customers.”

The units come standard with Metasys field equipment controllers featuring continuously adaptive tuning, state-based control and BACnet communications. These BACnet capabilities ensure seamless communication across YORK mechanical equipment and Johnson Controls Metasys building management system. YORK Solution high-performance air handling units feature dimensional, material, and component flexibility to suit the needs of the commercial, institutional, industrial manufacturing, hygienic systems, and process manufacturing industries. Last December, Johnson Controls completed its acquisition of YORK International, the largest independent supplier of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) equipment and services.
