New Controller Reduces Installation Cost, Deployment Time and Saves Mounting Space

RICHMOND, Virginia August 11, 2008 – Tridium today announced the release of its new rack mounted JACE (JAVA Application Control Engine) controller. An important addition to the company’s JACE portfolio, the JACE 5R-AX has been developed for data centers and commercial building applications requiring a modular controller that can be both rack and wall mounted and easily deployed.

As with all JACE controllers, the 5R-AX utilizes the NiagaraAX Framework and enables end-to-end building automation and device-to-enterprise integration to create a unified, real-time controls network. In addition to its flexibility and adaptable architecture, the 5R-AX operates on low voltage 24 VAC or 24 VDC power (in lieu of 120 or 230 VAC) which streamlines the installation process and can lower the deployment cost in areas where low voltage wiring can be run.

The JACE 5R-AX is applicable for use in all building automation environments where:
- mounting space is limited
- an equipment rack is present and available
- low voltage wiring can be run in lieu of more expensive line voltage
- the cost of conduit can be avoided by running low voltage wiring

“Today’s data centers and commercial buildings have unique infrastructure needs and require a wide range of equipment and applications to support them. The JACE 5R-AX has been engineered and manufactured to fully support them by delivering industry leading performance and flexibility, and renowned reliability”, said Marc Petock, Vice President Global Marketing and Communications for Tridium.
