Securing Buildings News

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- The Association for Facilities Engineering has retooled http://www.AFE.org, adding a wealth of features that, due to cutting-edge design and technology, make it easier than ever to use.

"We recognize that members and visitors to our site have no time to waste, so ease of navigation was crucial," CEO Laurence Gration said. "We also recognize that AFE is an important resource to facilities professionals worldwide, so we have uploaded an extraordinary amount of data -- from technical articles to event notices, links to our chapters, and all the applications and forms necessary for our certification and membership programs."

Reliable Controls Throughout its five decades of existence, AFE has been known for encouraging networking among facilities colleagues. That tradition continues, with the online member search feature. Another hallmark has been our "help wanted' section, which enables employers and recruiters to list their openings. Gration said the AFE Career Center has been -- and will continue to be -- expanded.

Gration encourages everyone to explore all parts of www.AFE.org, and to come back often because developments will continue. "It is now is a very dynamic place."

AFE has thousands of members worldwide and over 100 chapters throughout the U.S. Its mission is to provide education, certification, technical information and other relevant resources to plant engineering, operations and maintenance worldwide. The association conducts the Certified Plant Engineer, Certified Plant Maintenance Manager and Certified Plant Supervisors programs and publishes Facilities Engineering Journal. It was founded as the American Institute of Plant Engineers in Chicago, Illinois, in 1954; its name was changed in the early 1990s to better describe the variety and complexity of its members' workplaces.
