AHR EXPO-MÉXICO Breaks All Previous Show Records

WESTPORT, Connecticut…December 4, 2008 — A record-breaking number of attendees and exhibitors braved torrential rains and a turbulent economy to help establish five new records for the recently held 2008 AHR EXPO®-México.

Held September 23-25 in Monterrey N.L., the eighth AHR EXPO-México featured leading global exhibitors from 15 countries and set new records for:

• Total Attendance: 9,028
• Visitors: 6,404
• Exhibitor Personnel: 2,624
• Total number of exhibiting companies: 355
• Net Square Feet of Exhibits: 56,910

One-third of all attendees of the AHR EXPO-México show were either contractors or dealers, while 12% were facility, building management, industrial plant or public utilities workers, 20% were from distribution, and 11% were manufacturers of HVAC/R or allied equipment and components. Exhibitor feedback also reflects the success of the AHR EXPO-México show. According to a post-show survey, 94% of exhibiting companies felt the number of attendees was ‘excellent’ or ‘good,’ while 92% reported that the quality of those attendees was either ‘excellent’ or ‘good.’

“The overwhelming response to AHR EXPO-México reflects the strength of the HVAC/R industry in Latin America and the need for products that offer greater energy efficiencies and more sustainable solutions,” said Clay Stevens, Show Manager. “We are thrilled to have shattered all previous Show records!”

Many of the leading companies in the global HVAC/R industry showcased the latest air conditioning, heating, refrigeration and ventilation equipment and solutions during AHR EXPO-México including, Emerson Climate Technologies, Friedrick Air Conditioning Co., Invensys, Johnson Controls de Mexico, Lennox Global, McQuay International, Samsung, and Trane de Mexico, among others.

In addition, the ASHRAE Monterrey chapter organized over 40 educational sessions covering the latest technologies, protocols and standards, system efficiency optimization and other critical topics.

The 2010 AHR EXPO-México show is scheduled to take place at the World Trade Center in Mexico City from October 26-28, 2010. In the U.S., the world’s largest HVAC/R-exclusive event, the 2009 AHR EXPO, will take place in Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center on January 26-28, 2009.
