Automated Logic Awarded $9 Million World Trade Center Project

KENNESAW, Ga., Jan. 31, 2012 – Automated Logic (ALC), a leading provider of innovative building automation solutions that maximize energy efficiency while ensuring occupant comfort, has been selected by Silverstein Properties to provide the building automation system for 3 World Trade Center (WTC). Automated Logic is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

“We are proud to be a part of this landmark project,” stated Lauren Kolb, president, Automated Logic. “It’s a great honor to continue our work on the WTC site with some of the most respected development and construction companies in the industry.” Automated Logic is also currently working on the 4 WTC and 2 WTC, also being developed by Silverstein Properties, which were awarded in 2010.

The third tallest building in the WTC master plan, 3 WTC is located on Greenwich Street opposite the WTC Memorial. The 80-story, 2.8 million square foot tower includes 53 floors of office space, five trading floors and five levels of retail space at and below grade. The building, being developed by Silverstein Properties, is designed to the highest energy efficiency ratings and is working toward the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED) Gold certification upon project completion scheduled for 2015.

Automated Logic will deliver a seamless building automation solution that provides control and monitoring of heating, cooling and fire alarm systems as well as a direct interface with an innovative 1.2 MW PureCell fuel cell system designed by UTC Power, which will generate clean, efficient power onsite for 3 WTC.

contemporary The ALC system will ensure a comfortable environment for the building’s occupants and will help tenants save energy and promote more sustainable operations. The project will consist of control and monitoring of more than 15,000 points and will include two WebCTRL® servers, 4 BACnet operator workstations, 100 Mbps network infrastructure and 90 primary DDC panels.
