Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 14, 2012 - BACnet International announced today that The S4 Group, a leading manufacturer and service provider of BACnet building automation systems, is now a member of BACnet International. The S4 Group provides multiple levels of products and support for building automation systems. Facility managers can use S4’s Open Appliances to integrate BACnet-based Human Machine Interface (HMI) that fits their needs, budget, or preference. The S4 Group is joining BACnet International to increase its ability to collaborate with other leaders in the BACnet International community. A full listing of BACnet International membership benefits is located here, and an overview is included below.

The S4 Group has been developing and delivering solutions and services to help building owners and operators extend the life and capabilities of their existing Building Automation Systems (BAS) for over 10 years. By focusing on the integration of existing products with varying standards and protocols, S4 enables building owners to maximize the value of their buildings and system investments. S4’s router products also allow for these systems to be modernized with features such as advanced visualization, energy monitoring/management, and continuous tuning with minimal investment.

According to Steve Jones, Managing partner of The S4 Group, “BACnet International has proven to be a highly influential force in the building automation space. Most of the leaders in the space are members of BACnet International and we want the opportunity to work with them in standards groups and interoperability test events like Plugfest.” Jones added, “As we move into 2012, our plan is to expand our products and services to create cost-effective solutions and enhance building value for clients. BACnet International will be an important part of that plan.”

Andy McMillan, President of BACnet International and President of Philips Teletrol, commented on The S4 Group becoming a member of BACnet International, “The S4 Group has embraced the spirit of the BACnet standard with its product and service approach. They have designed a system with flexible architecture in mind – which greatly benefits building owners who have already invested in various building automation products and systems from different vendors.” McMillan added, “We welcome The S4 Group to BACnet International and look forward to working with them at PlugFest and other standards events to extend the value of BACnet for building automation.”
