Call for Papers
Abstract Submission Deadline: July 31, 2014

The GridWiseŽ Architecture Council, with support from PNNL, BPA, Smart Grid Northwest (formerly Smart Grid Oregon) and Portland General Electric, is pleased to convene the Second International Conference, Exhibits and Workshop on Transactive Energy in Portland, Oregon, on December 10 & 11 2014. The theme for this year’s conference will be “Energy Intelligence – The Coming Value Revolution.”

Date and Times: December 10, 2014(8:00 AM to 5:00 PM); December 11, 2014 (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM)

Abstracts for papers are being sought to address transactive energy methods and systems in the electric grid, buildings and facilities and in grid integration. We plan to organize the presentations into four panel sessions: Business and Policy Barriers; Customer Engagement; From Demand Response to Transactive Energy Systems; Cyber-physical, Security and Risk Management Challenges. Two of the panels will be held in parallel on the first day and the second two in parallel on the second day. The panel sessions will be followed by facilitated workshop sessions for in depth discussion of the panel topic and presentations. Examples of the questions that may be asked during the workshop sessions are provided below to guide in preparing abstracts.

Some abstracts may be selected for plenary panels. Following with the long-term focus of the Council on interoperability, authors should, if possible, include discussion of the role of or requirements forinteroperability in their submittals.

Submittals should clearly indicate the transactive energy focus of the paper, selecting the session with which the submittal is most aligned. Abstracts should be no longer than 200 words.
