MINNEAPOLIS, May 2006 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced the availability of two software innovations designed to dramatically reduce engineering and installation time in commercial buildings.

The company’s latest innovations include Honeywell’s WEBsAX Configuration Wizards, which dramatically reduce the engineering time to install a Honeywell WEBsAX control system. WEBsAX Configuration Wizards simplify the configuration process for the Excel 10 controllers by providing dropdown selection menus using easy to understand terminology. This allows engineers to quickly select the controller applications and features needed for their installation, reducing the engineering and commissioning time by up to 40 percent.

“The new WEBsAX Configuration Wizards are a terrific enhancement to Honeywell’s WEBs platform, and are already saving us a significant amount of time. The Wizards simplify not only the initial programming and development, but the entire project,” said Tom Masley of Sander Mechanical Service based in Middlesex, New Jersey. “This software consolidates everything required for programming -- screen development, field commissioning, air balancing, and additional real time adjustments into a single software tool. Best of all, it is all completed on site.”

The Wizards’ self-contained error checking virtually guarantees that the correct parameters for each selection are assigned. The Excel 15C configuration then provides a graphic display of the inputs, outputs, and control loops programmed in the controller, allowing the engineer to view the complete control strategy in a single display.

Beyond the Wizard’s simplicity is the convenience of having the complete programming software incorporated into a single tool. Designed within the revolutionary NiagaraAX software suite, the Excel 10 and Excel 15C configuration wizards are seamlessly integrated into the Honeywell WEBProAX software and are enabled by simply clicking on the respective controller in the navigation tree. The project database is built and maintained without importing or exporting files between software packages, reducing the overall engineering risk.

The WEB-201 controller platform is yet another new member of the Honeywell WEBsAX portfolio, and offers flexible control for smaller facilities, remote sites, and for equipment monitoring throughout larger facilities.

The WEB-201’s small, compact design is easy to install and supports multiple power options. The WEB 201 runs stand-alone control, energy management, and multi-protocol integration, while the optional Web User interface enables rich presentation and live data to a browser.

“The WEB-201 offers complete control for smaller facility applications,” said Keith Beckstrom, Honeywell senior product marketing manager. “In addition to dramatically simplifying installation¸ the WEB-201 offers all the features and functionality that contractors want — at a competitive price.”

The WEB-201 controller is designed to integrate a variety of devices and protocols into unified, distributed systems. The Honeywell WEBsAX product family is powered by the Niagara AX™ Framework®, the industry’s first software technology designed to integrate diverse systems and devices into a seamless system. WEBsAX supports a wide range of protocols including LonWorks®, BACNet®, MODbus®, and Internet standards and provides integrated network management tools to support design, configuration, installation, and maintenance of interoperable networks.
