Ethernet Operator Interface/HMI For Data Acquisition and Display

Davis, Calif., October 3, 2002 - Z-World's new OP7200 eDisplay is a C-programmable operator interface/HMI (human-machine interface) that offers rugged I/O, built-in Ethernet connectivity, and optional A/D and touchscreen capabilities. The compact eDisplay is an ideal data acquisition and display device for OEM products and stand-alone systems such as factory floor controls. The unit's 10Base-T Ethernet facilitates remote diagnostics, control, and communication, including sending and receiving E-mails and alerts.

Domosys Releases Commercial Version of PowerBus™ OSGi Bundle

Quebec City, QC – September 30, 2002 – Domosys announced today that it has developed a complete OSGi bundle supporting its PowerBus technology. This Java-based software package is used to design, install, operate, and maintain PowerBus power line control networks connected to OSGi-enabled service gateways. The bundle includes asynchronous, synchronous, and installation communications packages, sample device service bundles, a power line firmware upgrade utility, and complete documentation.

A retrofit at Southern Wine and Sprits of Northern California includes several of The Watt Stopper's lighting control products.

Santa Clara, CA - September, 2002 - As part of a comprehensive lighting retrofit, Southern Wine and Spirits of Northern California incorporated a number of The Watt Stopper's lighting control products, including occupancy sensors, lighting control panels, digital time switches, and daylighting controls. Estimates show that the project could save 55% in lighting kWh in retrofit areas, and 22% in kWh for the entire site.

Plcforum summit declares that Power Line Communication (PLC) is a competitive broadband access and in-home LAN technology

California Department of General Services Leads Conservation Efforts with Enterprise Energy Management System from Power Measurement

VICTORIA, BC (September 18, 2002) - In response to a statewide conservation initiative, California's Department of General Services has introduced a pilot enterprise energy management (EEM) system in sixty-five of the buildings it manages for state government agencies. DGS worked with Power Measurement and WebGen Systems to create an energy management system that automates conservation efforts by monitoring and controlling power usage in each of the buildings around the clock. A Power Measurement(R) ION 8500(tm) intelligent energy meter installed at each facility communicates with the WebGen Internet-based Use of Energy(tm) (IUE) energy conservation network to monitor power consumption and identify cost-saving opportunities.


ASHRAE's BACnet Moves Closer to Becoming International Standard 

ATLANTA -- BACnet®, the building controls standard published by the ASHRAE, has moved a step closer to becoming an international and European standard.

ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 135-2001, BACnet -- A Data Communication Protocol for Building Automation and Control Networks, is being considered as an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and as a European Committee for Standardization (CEN) standard.

Standard 135 has been approved by ISO Technical Committee 205 as a draft international standard. The standard has been distributed to voting member countries of ISO/TC 205 for acceptance as an international standard.
