Control Solutions, Inc

Palo Alto, Calif. — September 5, 2006 — Frost & Sullivan selected Tridium, Inc. as the recipient of the 2006 Green Buildings Energy & Facilities Management Excellence in Technology of the Year Award. Tridium receives this recognition for creating an Internet-based software infrastructure that enables end users to communicate between devices and right up to the enterprise for simpler and more efficient flow of data and operation.

“Tridium’s Niagara Framework® is designed to integrate diverse formats regardless of manufacturer or communication protocol,” says Frost & Sullivan research analyst Jorge Moreno. “For customers this means operating on one unified platform, with easy data access through the Internet, real time information sharing, and ultimately simplified interoperability and integration between building infrastructures to improve efficiency and maximize cost savings.”

The Niagara Framework takes into account all critical areas that form the subsystems that make a building function including lighting, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), security, and energy management. It allows devices to share information with each other and streamline it into an enterprise system where management can control and monitor the buildings’ operations anytime from anywhere.

The technology also enables end-users to collect information and benchmark buildings to expose operational inefficiencies and facilitate solutions. From a green building perspective end-users can capitalize on accurate and concise intelligence relating to the energy performance of a building in order to achieve lower energy consumption and enhanced efficiencies.

In addition to offering the Niagara Framework as a development platform to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to build their own solutions, Tridium also offers a Niagara based management and control product suite known as Vykon® that orchestrates the building automation, energy and security functions of any facility and ensures the integration and interoperability among the different systems and devices within the facility. Currently, there are over 50,000 instances of Niagara operating in over 6,000 installations worldwide.

“Meeting all the complex challenges of real-world integration and enterprise connectivity is a major challenge in the building automation industry,” notes Moreno. “Niagara ensures simpler connectivity along with easy installation and operation of the system backed by comprehensive tools to support both application developers and software developers.”

These cumulative factors make Tridium the deserving recipient of the 2006 Frost & Sullivan Award for Excellence in Technology of the Year in the Green Buildings Energy and Facilities Management Markets.

Each year Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to a company that has pioneered the development and introduction of an innovative technology into the market - a technology that has either impacted or has the potential to impact several market sectors. The Award recognizes a company’s successful technology development that is expected to bring significant contributions to the industry in terms of adoption, change, and competitive posture.

contemporary Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research in order to identify best practices in the industry.
