ATLANTA, GEORGIA, September 27, 2012 The Control Trends Awards recognizing leading companies, products, technology and persons in the Building Automation and HVAC Controls industry announced today that the Control Trends Academy, the global member governing body overseeing the awards and official nominating committee, the formation of a Steering Committee of industry leaders to help preside over the awards. The CTA Committee members include:

Jim Sinopoli:  Founder, Smart Buildings, LLC
Ken Sinclair: Publisher & Owner,  AutomatedBuildings.com
Rob Murchison: Founder & Partner, Intelligent Buildings, LLC
Heather Deal: Independent Marketing Consultant, HD Resources
Marc Petock, Industry Leader and Evangelist
Eric Stromquist, Stromquist & Company and CTA Co-Chairman
Ken Smyers, Edward C. Smyers Company and CTA Co-Chairman

It was also announced that Marc Petock, noted industry leader and building automation evangelist, has volunteered to be the Master of Ceremonies at the First Control Trends Awards to be held in Dallas, Texas in January. Nominations for the CTA’s are expected to begin the first week of October.

About the Control Trends Awards
Eric Stromquist of Stromquist & Company and Ken Smyers of Edward C. Smyers Company established the CTA Awards concept in June of 2012. The CTA’s recognize the heroes and superstars of the HVAC, Controls, and Building Automation Industry. There are twelve award categories with nominations and voting coming from industry. The CTA Awards pilot concept was released to the industry through Control Trends (www.controltrends.org).
