Pinterest has been brought to my attention as something "the kids" who in my world are anyone under 50... big smile... are using to quickly grab ideas from the web complete with a visual and pin it to a virtual bulletin board.

Mostly Pinterest has been used for planning and sharing holidays, organizing personal interests, and recipes........so why not automated connected buildings????  The architectural section is amazing and swept me away with personal interest and passion quickly presenting the architecture of the world in a continuous stream of pictures.

I am a very visual guy so the ability to see what I am saying is important. The quickly created purpose driven boards allows a smattering of related ideas to be custom created by you.

So expanding on my complete lack of understanding of what this Pinterest actually is we are experimenting with using it to provide a different view of our November issue menu or home page.

Once you have signed up for Pinterest you can share your pins with anyone else on Pinterest so send me your favorite pins I will create a board and share with our readers. A new way for us all to collaborate.

My first stab at using this resource was to provide a collection of mixed media articles to help augment the Connected Building Roadmap we were working on with our local utility BC Hydro.  It allowed quickly a flurry of thought on what is a connected building and the possibilities to be shared with many.
