St. Louis, MO. – Gridlogix, Inc., a leading creator of enabling interoperable Web Services technology announced the completion of integrating BACnet™ controls system with Asset and Property Management application Voyager by Yardi Systems for Belmar, a 103-acre mixed-use downtown district being redeveloped by Continuum Partners, in the City of Lakewood, CO.

Control systems integrator Setpoint Systems of Denver, CO was selected to provide the automation control systems for the Belmar redevelopment project.  One of the goals of the project was to link the real-time data of the controls system with the Property Management applications to enable automatic billing and facilitate Enterprise Energy Management.

By leveraging a real-time communication link to the control system energy meters, the Gridlogix XML Web Service application known as EnNET® allows the customer to create a “utility style” automated meter reading system.  The Gridlogix system automatically captures meter readings from an existing BACnet control network and stores the data in standard XML format for use by Yardi Systems’ Voyager application.  EnNET’s industry standard interface allows the customer to create a direct link between the data from the energy meters and the tenant information maintained in the Yardi Voyager application.  The immediate benefit to the customer is timely and accurate energy consumption information that is quickly integrated with existing tenant records and billing information maintained in the Yardi application.  Long-term benefits will come from more accurate tenant billing and improved tenant relations by assisting tenants with energy management initiatives based on real-time energy use information.

“EnNET is ideally suited to provide a direct link from building automation systems to corporate business applications,” noted Gridlogix CTO Ron Brown.  “EnNET will allow IT departments to ignore the protocol details of automation systems and begin using accepted IT standards and software development tools to implement preventive maintenance programs, customer care programs for tenants and real-time energy management programs.  The Intranet and Internet friendly nature of XML Web Services will allow companies to outsource these programs to service providers if they choose to do so.”

Continuum Partners is currently redeveloping the former Villa Italia mall site into Belmar, a 103-acre, mixed-use downtown district for the City of Lakewood. This nationally recognized project will combine retailers, boutique stores, restaurants, cafes, theatres, galleries, offices, residences, parks and plazas - all within 22 city blocks. The project will also be home to a hotel and will include more than 6,000 free parking spaces in public parking garages. Catering to an urban lifestyle, Belmar's streets, green areas and public art are designed to encourage pedestrian traffic and emphasize the importance of public spaces. This $750 million plus project is under construction with the first phase of shops, offices and residences opening in the spring of 2004.
