ZigBee to Showcase Latest Embedded Systems Technology from Alliance Members

San Ramon, Calif. – March 27, 2006 – The ZigBee™ Alliance, an association of companies working together to enable reliable, cost-effective, low-power, wirelessly networked, monitoring and control products based on an open global standard, today announced that it will be exhibiting at this year’s Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley (http://www.embedded.com/esc/sv/) running April 3-7, 2006 at San Jose’s McEnery Convention Center. ZigBee will be exhibiting at Booth #3322.

Over 20 ZigBee member companies will be demonstrating at the conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to see a wide range of ZigBee technology representing the many possibilities of embedded systems applications. A map highlighting the locations will be available at the ZigBee booth.

Also at the conference, Bob Heile, chairman of the ZigBee Alliance, will be delivering a special presentation entitled “Wireless Sensors and Control Networks – Enabling New Opportunities” on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. The presentation will be detailing how wireless technology is being adapted by the ZigBee Alliance to provide the user with ultimate flexibility, mobility, and ease of use by building wireless intelligence and capabilities into every day devices. “We are pleased to be bringing the latest ZigBee technology to the Embedded Systems Conference and sharing it with other companies working together to provide consumers with the ultimate in flexible and wireless embedded products,” said Bob Heile, chairman of the ZigBee Alliance. “Industry professionals will be able to see how the best wireless intelligence and sensing capabilities available today will shape the future of embedded systems technology.”

The ZigBee Alliance is currently more than 200 Alliance Members strong and has a presence in 24 countries spanning six continents. OEMs and end-product manufacturers now represent 30 percent of the global membership. ZigBee is the only standards-based technology designed to
address the unique needs of low-cost, low-power, wireless sensor networks for remote monitoring, home control, and building automation and embedded network applications in the industrial and consumer markets. Companies who want to have input on developing the ZigBee specification and create ZigBee products can join by visiting www.zigbee.org/join/.

The five-day Embedded Systems Conference this year returns to the heart of Silicon Valley, and will showcase the latest developments in enabling technologies, systems and software products, and tools created by the electronics industry’s most innovative minds – the Creators of  Technology. ESC will welcome over 300 leading exhibitors and feature more than 194 classes and design seminars to give engineers and engineering managers thorough training and understanding of the industry’s most critical themes – like analog and power, Linux and DSP, Consumer Video, and Wireless Networking. Conference highlights include a comprehensive technical program and series of design seminars, an exhibit show floor featuring the industry’s top players, a keynote address by inventor and education advocate Dean Kamen, the second Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards, and the return of the popular Microprocessor Summit.
