The highly anticipated winners of the $100,000 DOE Apps for Energy contest to build Green Button based applications will be announced at ConnectivityWeek at the opening plenary on May 22 in Santa Clara.

On hand to make the announcements will be several contest judges: DOE Assistant Secretary Patricia Hoffman, PG&E CIO Karen Austin and Garage Venture Managing Director Bill Reichert.

The announcement will take place following the keynote given by White House US CTO Todd Park and CPUC Commissioner Catherine Sandoval.

The DOE Apps for Energy contest is open until May 15 and is sponsored by the DOE, PG&E, Itron and Grid21.

Connecting to Demand Side at DR-Expo

The annual DR-Expo at ConnectivityWeek will connect the dots between utilities and the electricity demand side – including homes, commercial and industrial facilities, and critical infrastructure.

Whether you’re a building manager, a utility, or a technology vendor, you can’t miss this opportunity to become part of this DR discussion.

•    See DR come to life in the Demand-Side Plug-In, which will demonstrate interoperable devices in action.
•    Hear the latest on the OpenADR 2.0 standard -- which is quickly gaining acceptance from utilities, vendors, ISOs/RTOs, and other critical stakeholders -- through a robust agenda organized in part by the OpenADR Alliance.
•    Learn about other new developments in DR.
