Energy efficient technology provides owners with simple way to increase bottom line

Wilmington, N.C. – August 2, 2011 – As convenience stores face greater competition and tighter profit margins, many operators are looking for innovative ways to increase revenues while also making their stores more inviting for customers. These owners now have access to technology from Efficient Energy America, Inc. (E2America) that helps reduce energy costs and consumption, while helping operators achieve comfortable environments inside their stores. Already installed in leading restaurants and retail chains, E2America’s automated, self-refining, wireless, retrofit HVAC control systems go far beyond traditional energy management technology to reduce electricity costs, usage and carbon emissions for commercial enterprises. Current customers include McDonalds, Bojangles, Taco Bell and Golden Corral franchises, as well as other commercial buildings across the U.S.

A large portion – in many cases, more than 50 percent – of the total energy used by commercial buildings can be attributed to HVAC systems. Over the years, convenience store operators have faced continued increases in both energy costs and usage, which haven’t been offset by simple measures such as adjusting thermostat temperatures and performing preventative HVAC maintenance. E2America’s system more directly impacts overall energy consumption by optimizing HVAC performance and better managing electricity demand. The technology not only considers the environment inside a commercial building, but also considers the environment a building is in, ensuring maximum thermal comfort in all areas. It is the only system that takes into account 19 variables, including external weather data, internal and external humidity, solar heat load and building occupancy to continually monitor, control and optimize the operation of the building’s HVAC systems.

contemporary “Simply by taking steps to make their buildings ‘smarter,’ convenience store owners are finding they can actually increase their bottom line,” said Dara O’Neill, E2America CEO. “The E2America system provides the c-store market with proven technology that not only delivers dramatic savings on electricity costs, but also helps optimize HVAC systems and thermal comfort for a number of commercial buildings.”

E2America customers save as much as $800 each month, per location, on electricity costs after installation. For operators with several convenience store locations, the savings can be even more substantial. A typical E2America implementation yields ROI in 12 months, which is much faster than sustainable energy technology. The company currently partners with a number of utility companies and electric cooperatives across the country, including Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, Progress Energy, Duke Energy, and GreenCo Solutions, Inc., to offer incentive programs for commercial customers. C-store owners can also take advantage of federal legislation that provides substantial tax credits for energy efficiency technology installed in 2011.

About E2America
E2America's intelligent HVAC control, optimization and real-time reporting systems go far beyond traditional energy management systems to reduce electricity costs, usage and carbon emissions for commercial enterprises. The only fully-automated, wireless, retrofit technology to deliver cash-positive results from day-one and ROI within 18 months, E2America systems are installed in leading restaurant and retail chains, as well as other commercial buildings across the U.S. The E2America intelligent Smart Grid efficiency technology reduces energy consumption (kWh) and demand (kW) of each facility through management of the HVAC equipment, which draws the heaviest electrical loads. Each solution is custom designed and built for that particular application, and no training is required. Because the systems are entirely wireless, installation takes only hours. E2America is a Trade Ally with many utility companies, including Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, Progress Energy, Duke Energy, GreenCo and ElectriCities. The company is headquartered in North Carolina. For more information, visit www.e2america.com.
