Integrated Solution Dramatically Reduces Costs of Energy Management for Commercial Buildings

Mountain View, Calif. – January 18, 2012 – Daintree Networks, Inc., the leading provider of intelligent wireless lighting controls for commercial buildings, today announced the addition of low-cost metering capabilities to its solution through the innovative new Pervasive Metering feature. Part of the company’s award-winning ControlScope™ wireless platform, Pervasive Metering enables customers to easily add standard Modbus® power meters to measure and visualize power usage, reducing the added cost of a dedicated power meter infrastructure.

Typical power meter solutions require a dedicated – and often costly – infrastructure to collect, collate, visualize and report on the energy data collected in individual meters. Now customers of Daintree’s ControlScope wireless lighting controls platform can connect power meters using the Modbus standard to Daintree’s Wireless Area Controllers (WACs) within the building. In addition to managing and controlling lighting, the WACs collect data from the meters, and send it to the ControlScope Manager online application for visualization and reporting. Cost-saving decisions then can be made based on more comprehensive data.

Pervasive Metering provides accurate energy measurement data for lighting usage as well as any other metered circuit. By utilizing a single infrastructure and software interface for both lighting controls and power meter data collection, the ControlScope solution dramatically reduces the cost of investing in energy management.
