Distech Controls, the specialist HVAC controls and BMS provider, has launched its latest ECL-x50 and ECB-x50 BACnet and LONWORKS Programmable Controller series with an integrated LCD operator interface to reduce set-up time and enable easier time scheduling.

Like all ECL and ECB Series controllers, these new Distech versions are designed to enable control of advanced applications, such as, central plant, boilers, chillers, air handling units (AHUs), heat pumps and variable air volume (VAV) systems. These controllers offer system integrators and end-users a robust, powerful, and feature-rich hardware platform.

The new controllers feature a large, bright colour display, and include a number of time-saving features for integration and monitoring. Display of status information, such as alarms and overrides, is colour-coded and there is real-time access to monitored values, set points of the controlled equipment. For ease of use, time scheduling and exception day configuration is achieved on the LCD via a graphical interface, which also enables the management and acknowledging of alarms. A future update will provide access to trend log charts.

"This new controller display option offers great value,” says Chris Irwin, Business Development Manager for Northern and Eastern Europe at Distech Controls. “It significantly reduces the cost of using our ECB or ECL controllers on small site applications, as well as providing a local override capability at a lower cost than conventional HOA switches. The inclusion of graphical time scheduling is a key advantage”.

Available as an option on all the Distech LONWORKS and BACnet controllers, this new operator interface will pay for itself by delivering commissioning and maintenance time savings on many types of projects.
