LONMARK ® Testing Program Reaches yet Another Milestone

LONMARK International’s Professional Certification Testing Program recently hit another big milestone. The test, which was first launched in January 2007, has now reached over 200 individuals!

The testing program, which proved to be extremely successful from the very beginning, continues to pick up momentum throughout the world. The month of May saw 40 people, ranging from San Jose to Kuala Lumpur, registering for the test.

LONMARK International recently began offering a 6-hour intensive training class directly followed by the LONMARK Professional Certification Test. This training program is currently available at select locations as well as at the newly opened LONMARK authorized testing and training center at QA America in Denver, Colorado. The aim of the Professional Certification Testing Program is to test and certify engineers, integrators, and designers. This will ensure that building owners and specifiers the world over will be safe in the knowledge that only the most qualified people are working on their projects, thus ensuring the best possible systems are installed. Specifiers are encouraged to require the LONMARK credential in all of their open systems specifications.

The test is open to any industry professional involved in the design, specification, integration or installation of LON^® control networks. Those passing the test are recognized LONMARK Certified Professionals and hold the credentials associated with comprehensive LON technology knowledge.

Everyone, LONMARK members and non-members alike, who passes the credentialing program requirements, will have their contact information published in the Certified Professional section of our website.

The LONMARK Professional Certification test is a comprehensive online exam, which can only be taken at certified LONMARK Testing Centers. Permanent testing centers are available around the world and the test is also frequently offered at industry trade events. The 150 multiple-choice questions cover 12 subject areas, including LONWORKS^® history and terminology, physical and logical network structuring, installation, communication, LONWORKS and IP, and user interfaces. The test is currently available in English and German, with other languages to follow.
