He is also the Chief Strategy and Commercialization officer for Bidtracer, which provides an all-in-one sales and operations tool for system integrators and contractors. Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, Lenny’s career spans construction, product innovation, manufacturing, import/export, training, and research in a myriad of countries and cultures. He has also held numerous roles of increasing responsibility at Johnson Controls, the most recent one being the Global Vice President for Smart Buildings and BMS Commercialization. Paul is the founder and President of Building Intelligence Group. He is a licensed engineer and is actively involved in efforts to improve building efficiency both on a project-by-project basis as well as programs to elevate the performance of the industry. Throughout his career, Paul has been actively involved with industry groups focused on the creation of new automation standards and technologies. Previous roles include chairing the BACnet sub-committee on interoperability and acting as the inaugural chair for the oBIX committee to establish XML standards for building controls. He currently is chairing a project to develop a new ASHRAE standard for a “Control Description Language”. Prior to forming Building Intelligence Group, Paul spent 20 + years working for industry-leading firms including Johnson Controls and Trane. Paul has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas.

Manny Mandrusiak is not a stranger to Automatedbuildings.com. He wrote regular columns on marketing techniques and the introduction of new technologies to the BAS space. He took a break recently to focus on establishing a computer training company (Vancouver Island Works Project) and a digital marketing company (Lime Tree Media). It is through Lime Tree Media that he finds him self working with the Industrial Management Services company Dexcent. Manny and his team have become the marketing arm for Dexcent and has just created the Industrial DataOPS division of Dexcent called Dexcent IDS, and the Dexcent Asset Performance Management Program. Manny is a Business Developer at heart and is passionate about helping people achieve their goals using a philosophy of “People, Processes, and Technology”. Improving collaboration and communication strengthens all three of these things and helps build community, and a strong community means a brighter future for all of us.

Keith Gipson

One of the top building automation technicians at Honeywell in the late 80s and engineers at Johnson Controls in the mid-90s, Keith Gipson has been a pioneer in the Buildings IoT, Enterprise Energy Management (EEM) industries, and technology for over twenty-five years.

In 1997 Keith Co-Founded the first EEM company, Silicon Energy Corp., which was sold to Itron in 2001 for $71 M. In 2005 Keith co-founded Shield Ops Inc. He architected an AI-driven CSI and evidence-linking program to help law enforcement discover, classify and correlate crime data as featured on the television show CSI Las Vegas (Season 10, Episode 4 “Coup De Grace”).

Most recently Keith was CTO of Phoenix Energy Technologies where he architected the Enterprise DX (“Data eXchange”) EEM platform that monitors and controls over 16,000 retail and commercial buildings, one of the largest integrated, web-based EEM platforms ever created. In March of 2020, after thirteen years, Keith left Phoenix ET to apply his vision and experience to build a conversational AI Autonomous Optimization (AIAO) solution.

Scott’s career has been marked by being named one of Montreal’s Top 50 Women Leaders (2022), by her nomination as a 2020 Woman of Inspiration by the Universal Women’s Network, as well as being shortlisted as Industry Woman of the Year by the ControlTrends Awards (2020). She has pursued certificates in “Reconciliation through Indigenous Education” (UBC), “The Health Effects of Climate Change” (Harvard University) and “Corporate Sustainability Management: Risk, Profit, and Purpose” (Yale School of Management).
