Consumers and commercial building owners are becoming more concerned over rising energy cost. Their concerns are rising their needs for control of their environment, zoning, and direct digital control. Many Heating & Cooling Systems employ ZONE Control and this is the trend for the future. Zoning maintains each zone (area) at the desired temperature. For heating, the zone controls may activate an electrical heating circuit, or control the flow of conditioned air, hot water or steam. Zone cooling uses damper control in ducts or valves in chilled water circuits. Energy management systems (residential and commercial) require automatic control operation. DDC is the use of digital computers to perform these operations.

Reliable Controls To help HVACR trainers better understand Zoning and Direct Digital Controls, Mr. Terry Hoffmann of Johnson Controls will conduct a Zoning and Direct Digital Controls train the trainer at the National HVACR Educators and Trainers Conference. This program will highlight the availability and application of these popular systems and include examples of the technology and installation techniques employed.

Mr. Hoffmann is Director of Marketing, Building Automation Systems, for Johnson Controls building efficiency business. His responsibilities include defining and developing materials for new product deployment, strategic brand management and the identification of leading edge technology.

The Zoning and Direct Digital Controls, Residential and Light Commercial Applications Train the Trainer will be conducted at the National HVACR Educators and Trainers Conference. The 2009 National HVAC Educators and Trainers Conference will be held at the Imperial Palace Hotel in Las Vegas, NV., March 8-10, 2009.

The conference registration fee is $189.00 and includes: Admission to all seminars (breakout sessions), Admission to all general sessions, (2 plated breakfast plus 2 plated luncheons on Monday and Tuesday), Free testing for Certified Master HVACR Educators.
