Downers Grove, Illinois (July 30, 2008)―H. Michael Newman is one of the most recognized industry leaders in building automation. He led the charge for adopting the BACnet protocol and as a means of achieving interoperability between hundreds of manufacturers’ products.

Mike graduated “with distinction” from Cornell University in 1965 with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics. A year later he was awarded a master’s degree in the same field and subsequently did post-graduate work in astrophysics at the NASA Center for Radiophysics and Space Research. He is currently employed as the Manager of the Utilities Computer Section at Cornell University.
