Kepware Releases the Water Industry Telemetry Standard (WITS) for DNP3.0 Drivers

KEPServerEX version 5.4 is released delivers enhancements to over 30 Drivers and Plug-ins

Portland, ME October 26, 2010 — Kepware Technologies, the leader in Communications for Automation, announced today that it has released KEPServerEX version 5.4. This release delivers important functionality to the DNP3.0 drivers, added device model support to the Omron Ethernet and Serial drivers, and enhanced MIB parsing capabilities to the SNMP driver. A total of 30 drivers and plug-ins received enhancements along with the bundling of the OPC DA and UA client drivers. The latest client/server technology endorsed by the OPC Foundation, OPC Xi or the Express Interface has also been added to the product as beta functionality until we are able to test and certify our solution against other vendor’s client implementations.

The WITS functionality for the DNP3 drivers adds a level of security through authentication, additional data sets specific to the water industry and the ability to manage device assets and device attributes.

The OPC Data Access (DA) and OPC Unified Architecture (UA) Client drivers are now bundled together. Customers get both DA and UA connectivity for the price a single price. The OPC DA Client driver allow users to aggregate data from any 3^rd Party OPC DA Server. The OPC UA also allows for the aggregation from any OPC UA server and can be used to securely tunnel data without having to rely on Microsoft DCOM.
