ASHRAE Endorses BACnet® Conference and Expo To be Presented by BACnet Organizations

Event Aims to Educate and Inform End Users, Integrators and Consultants

BOSTON – The BACnet Interest Group of North America (BIG-NA) and the BACnet Manufacturers Association (BMA) announce that The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has endorsed the BACnet Conference and Expo to be held October 23 – 25, 2005, in Nashville, Tenn. The conference, presented by BIG-NA and BMA, is designed to educate mechanical system design professionals, integrators and end users on the benefits of the BACnet open protocol. The event will feature a variety of seminars lead by industry professionals and a trade show including multi-vendor interoperability demonstrations. The conference theme is “More Freedom than Ever” because, according to Williamson, end users have never had more freedom to put together a complete BACnet system using multiple vendors that interoperate with many building systems.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), founded in 1894, is an international organization of 55,000 persons. Its sole objective is to advance through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve the evolving needs of the public.

The BACnet Interest Group of North America (BIG-NA) assists facility owners and designers to better understand open systems and their benefits.
