TAC Achieves Technical Excellence by Obtaining BACnet Testing Laboratories Listing as a BACnet® Building Controller
bCX1-CR Controller among the first group of building automation products to meet stringent BACnet Testing Labs criteria
BOSTON — TAC, a world leader in building automation, security systems and energy solutions, is pleased to announce the new bCX1 controller/router series of building controllers has earned a BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) listing as a BACnet Building Controller.
The bCX1-CR is among the first group of BACnet products to receive the listing as a BACnet building controller, or B-BC, from the BTL. The B-BC device profile is the most comprehensive profile that the laboratory tests. The BTL requires that a B-BC device comply with The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) BACnet standard in all five interoperable areas: data sharing, alarm and event management, scheduling, trending, and device and network management.
The BACnet standard is developed and maintained by ASHRAE and has been adopted as both an ANSI and an ISO standard.
The Continuum bCX1 controller/router series is available in three models, two of which support the BACnet protocol. They provide support for features such as BACnet trend logs, calendars and schedules, an embedded Web server, and DC power for UPS systems. The controllers are also designed to allow users to add inputs and outputs and have the capability of allowing users to migrate existing programs into the new controller series.
The bCX1 controller/router BTL B-BC listing can be seen on the BTL Product Listings page of the BACnet Manufacturers Association website, www.bacnetassociation.org, along with 16 other listed products from TAC. The BTL Product Listings web page, for many end users and engineers, defines which products are eligible for use on their site.

About BACnet Testing Laboratories
The BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL), which is part of the BACnet Manufacturers Association (BMA), offers a product testing and listing program for products that have BACnet capability. The BTL's authorized test laboratories will test the BACnet functionality of a product to a set of requirements developed by the BTL that are based on ASHRAE Standard 135.1P. Products that meet the BTL's requirements are eligible to receive a BTL listing.
