Marc is a pioneer and leader in guiding the Intelligent/Smart Buildings and IoT movements and pushing them forward. Currently, as Vice President, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for Lynxspring, Marc leads corporate marketing strategy, product planning direction and defines and implements the marketing programs and initiatives as well as the budgets and people that support them. 

Over the years, Marc been recognized with several industry accolades, including a “Who’s Who” from M2M Magazine; a Niagara Community Spirit Award; the “Petock Award”, an annual award named in his honor; Realcomm’s Top 35 People to Watch, a Digital Impact Award (Digie), and the Realcomm|IBcon 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award. He also is an inductee into the Controls Industry Hall of Fame. 

Ed Merwin, Director – Strategic Business, Tridium 


Ed Merwin is a legend of the building automation industry. Ed was with Honeywell for 25 years before joining Tridium, Inc. in 2001. Ed is currently the Director of Strategic Business working with Tridium marketing, engineering, and sales teams to support Tridium’s long term business strategy in various markets. Ed presents regularly on the value of systems and data integration in creating safe, comfortable, and efficient intelligent buildings. Ed is a member of ASHRAE and has a B.S. in Engineering Technology from Old Dominion University.

Paul Maximuk, Sr. Associate Intelligent Buildings, Newcomb & Boyd, LLP 


Paul is an experienced Senior Consultant with 30 years of demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. He possesses strong experience with Building Management Systems, Controls, Energy Management, Facility Management, Electrical Wiring, Heating, and Contract Management.

In 2019, Paul was awarded the Julie Devine Digital Impact Award for digital innovation for his passion in sharing his vision and experience with the industry and for introducing cutting-edge smart building technology to a large global workplace portfolio at a scale that advanced the industry.

Gary Ament, Solutions Architect, FSG Smart Buildings 


As a Solution Architect, Gary’s main focus is on developing innovative strategies and utilizing cutting-edge technologies to optimize building performance and enhance energy efficiency. He collaborates with clients, understanding their unique needs and requirements, and creates tailored solutions that align with their goals.

Gary is widely acknowledged as a leader in his industry and is frequently invited to share his insights as a speaker. His substantial expertise and wealth of knowledge have established him as a respected consultant and advisor within his professional network. In this role, Gary provides valuable insights and guidance on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the realm of real estate and technology convergence.

Larry Melton, President & CEO, The Building People 


Lawrence Melton is the CEO & President of The Building People. With over 25 years of Federal Executive experience, Lawrence established the company in 2013 and found early success in its global reach to drive greater efficiency, investment, and performance for their clients. Lawrence founded and spearheaded the formation of The Building People. He has successfully led the company into the federal sector and expanded into the commercial industry through creative partnering approaches and competitive service offerings.

Daniel Burns, Global Head-Building Technology Advisory, JLL Technologies


Dan joined JLLT in 2018 with over 20 years of in the Smart Building Industry. As the Global Lead, Dan has executive accountability for the JLL Technologies Smart Building Advisory.  He is responsible for the profitable growth and the successful delivery of client advisory engagements, working with Occupiers and Investors.
