
Manny Mandrusiak is not a stranger to Automatedbuildings.com. He wrote regular columns on marketing techniques and the introduction of new technologies to the BAS space. He took a break recently to focus on establishing a computer training company (Vancouver Island Works Project) and a digital marketing company (Lime Tree Media).
It is through Lime Tree Media that he finds him self working with the Industrial Management Services company Dexcent. Manny and his team have become the marketing arm for Dexcent and has just created the Industrial DataOPS division of Dexcent called Dexcent IDS, and the Dexcent Asset Performance Management Program.

Lenny Joseph is the Founder of Greenole, a cloud native serverless building operating system that ties in a single pane of glass the traditional building systems and IoT devices. He is also a Founder of KLPD Global, a smart building master system integrator, that provides controls and power management building solutions, as well as hardware and software engineering services for system integrators globally. He is also the Chief Strategy and Commercialization officer for Bidtracer, that provides an all-in-one sales and operations tool for system integrators and contractors.
Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, Lenny's career spans construction, product innovation, manufacturing, import/export, training, and research in a myriad of countries and cultures. He has also held numerous roles of increasing responsibility at Johnson Controls, the most recent one being the Global Vice President for Smart Buildings and BMS Commercialization.
Lenny has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Ilorin, Nigeria; a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University; an MBA from University of Michigan; and Executive Education in Big Data and Analytics from Northwestern University - Kellog.

James Carlini, MBA, is author of LOCATION LOCATION CONNECTIVITY, Next-Generation Real Estate, Intelligent Infrastructure, Technology, and the global Platform for Commerce (Published 2014) As President of Carlini & Associates since 1986, he is also a visionary and strategist for mission critical networks, technology, and intelligent infrastructure.
He serves as an expert witness in Civil and Federal courts on Mission Critical Networks and Intelligent Infrastructure. He was Consultant to the Mayor’s Office on the Planning & Design of the Chicago Emergency 911 Center among other strategic mission critical infrastructure projects including those at O’Hare International Airport, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Sanwa Bank, Santa Fe Southern Pacific Development Company, JMB Realty, AT&T, & GLOBEX.
He is also a former Practice Area Director for Arthur Young (now, Ernst & Young, one of the Big Four Consulting Firms) and former award-winning, adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University in both Executive Masters and undergraduate programs (1986-2006) developing and teaching courses in technology management, Six Sigma, Network Security, and international applications of technology.
He is also a pioneer of many Intelligent Building concepts, including the development of the first Building IQ Test (1985) and writing “Measuring a Building’s IQ”, a chapter in Johnson Controls’ Intelligent Building Sourcebook (1988, Prentice-Hall) He has been referred to as the DaVinci of Intelligent Building Movement and was the Chairman of the Definitions Committee for the Intelligent Buildings Institute in Washington DC (1986-1988)
His original “Platform for Commerce” definition of infrastructure and its impact on economic growth was written in a 2009 whitepaper for the US Department of Homeland Security entitled, “Intelligent Infrastructure: Securing Regional Sustainability” which was later adopted and referred to in the US ARMY Corps of Engineers’ Handbook, “Infrastructure and the Operational Art” (2014) and its 2016 publication of Infrastructure in Subpopulations.
Carlini hosted a three-part Podcast Series in 2023 for the Association for Smarter Homes & Buildings (ASHB) on, “Post-Pandemic Building Issues: Cybersecurity & Intelligent Amenities.” He also hosted one on “Smart Cities, Smart Buildings, and their Investors: Beware of the Digital Hucksters” in Summer of 2023.
He has appeared in several interviews on TV on the Illinois Channel and was a regular guest speaking on technology issues on a Public Affairs Radio Program in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Carlini wrote columns for several trade publications including Network World. Electrical Contractor, International Policy Digest, ALLROYA (Dubai-based Financial Publication), Cabling Business Magazine, Security Magazine and whitepapers for the National Military Intelligence Foundation’s American Intelligence Journal on emerging technologies and Asymmetric Warfare. He also wrote several whitepapers for George Mason University’s School of Law’s Critical Infrastructure & Homeland Security Publication.
He spoke at the SMART CITIES INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM (2021 and 2022) and has spoken several times at the Illinois Municipal League on regional economic development and broadband connectivity. Mike brings over 25 years of experience as a math teacher and national education reform leader, with expertise in making challenging technical subjects accessible and engaging, and in connecting educational outcomes with the immediate needs of employers.
